I have to agree with the majority here. I have only been with Afternic for a short time. While they are fairly competent in dealing with problems after they happen, ive grown quite irritated with their service as of late.

For example... It seems as though they are always having some sort of system problem or another. As a matter of fact, no images are showing up on their website at all tonight. In addition, they're site is extremely slow the majority of the time I am able to login.

I find this kinda rediculous. I mean, first they charge $20/year for simple access to the site, then their commision is insane. I haven't really been all that fortunate to obtain and auction any big number domains yet as im pretty new to all this, but there is something wrong when the auctioneer makes more $$ on a domain than their customers do.

Now. Im fully aware we are in a free market society and so forth, but give me a break. Sedo doesnt charge me a dime for access to their service and they completely wave the minimum commision if you park with them.

Another thing ive noticed. (If this is a little off-topic, I apoligize). There are more and more domain information providers popping up every day (pagerank, linkback, archive listed, etc.). Why have the main players (afternic and sedo) been so slow to adopt this type of service?

Hello Richard,

We received updated information regarding the domain name you have referred to in your posts:

The name is locked down at the registry level because it is not a "true" IDN. It is not associated with any language tag and the registry has not decided what it will do with it yet. Due to its lack of association to a language will remain on hold and unusable until further notice.

I hope this information further clarifies why this sale could not be completed.

Regards,

Amber West

Sorry Amber, no, it doesn't explain a damn thing.

In fact, I don't believe a single word of it. Not only do your comments make no sense at all, or have any credibility, but this "information" has come to light very late in the day...

Isn't it odd, after having been ignored for so long by Michael Collins, "VP of Marketing", and other members of your staff, that you are now willing to tell me all? (or at least give me your "information")... I wonder if this has anything to do with Afternic being SHAMED in to a reply because I posted my complaint on this forum?...

I will remember this for a very long time.

You disgust me.
