Having read through 4-5 pages of bickering (albeit interesting!) and inspirational words, I feel I should add my 2 cents about domaining.

Domaining was really the first business I got into, as a 15-year-old adolescent passing through his first phases of puberty. The prospect of making money from cyberspace turned me on like no other adult magazine. 3 years later, I have finally amassed a low five-figure portfolio of domains. It's fairly insignificant I have to admit, but it's just to prove a point that domaining got me "somewhere." By that, I mean it helped me enter manhood.

Thanks.

Did that guy disappear? I see he was online last time in 2007.

Hey Guys

I believe this is one of the greatest threads in this forum.

 post number 21 was the greatest! After that one, the fight started.

I was just telling someone the other day who i was working with, "there are a lot of big egos in the domain business".

I stand by that statement.

Domaining didn't start from scratch.
A lot of folks from other walks of life joined in.
Par example, there is a well-known biz of flipping RE, or rather, real estate contracts. Those contracts are extremely liquid.
In most cases the buyers don't even bother to do the physical inspection. They rely on the descriptive info from the cities. Online.
In many cases the potential buyers come to the closing with tons of cash. In brown bags.
Same property can be flipped several times during the day.
So, who's teaching whom?

"And who is that Sahar dude? Just dropped from the Mars, and his mug now everywhere? An authority all of a sudden?"

Your kidding right? Sal has been in the industry more than a decade, I remember dealing with him in the mid to late 90's, he originally went by sheperd online... I've met him many years ago at Deanfest.. (google it) ..

""the little guy who came up on his own, with no "silver spoon" to suck on while nurturing their way thru this madness."" that sounds more like the ChickenNuggets.com story I know.... and I always thought it was a decent name sal.

SMug..
