"So you think it's ok to break the law as long as the person breaking the law thinks it's objectively right?"
That's a very old question, and one which does not have an answer. People often have moral convictions which do not line up with legal answers. On the one hand, that is how moral crusaders like Gandhi have acheived great victories. The problem, of course, is that the guys who flew those planes into the World Trade Center also steadfastly believed they were doing the morally correct thing.
Law simply provides a lowest common denominator, it does not, and should not guide one's morality.
