If the pointing was the problem (BTW, HotGirl.tv was not pointing anywhere, just HotGirls.tv)...why can't he just send a PM and let me know that's the problem? I would have removed the forwarding. He never even mentioned the pointing issue until hours after I started this thread.

The problem is that there is a lack of professional courtesy.

The fact this "adult" issue has cropped up again and again screams for some list that will define a domain that must be listed in the adult section. It's a bad idea to have mods move, edit and deleted threads without some understanding why. A PM to the member would be nice...biggedon did that for me the other day and I fixed the issue with the thread. He was polite and professional. Once again, many of us here make a living, or a good part of their living, selling domains. Having a mod act unprofessional is not good for business.

There are four "heavy hitters" who left these forums for good...I think you know who they are without me mentioning their names, but they are very active on other forums. The last thing I want this forum to turn into is a nickel and dime resale site. The last 4 sales I had over 5K came on a different forum...something to think about.

I do not want this forum to be a nickel and dime site either. There are some credibility problems which need to be addressed for the future of the site.

The credibility of this forum was lost a long time ago. And YES, it is turning into a nickle and dime forum.

Boy this is a tuff thread. Hate to see so many of our friends on this forum in such a heated debate. I find this place to be as good as it gets in our industry and feel that the moderators all do a very good job for what I assume is a "thank-less" position. Adult domains should be moderated and keep in the adult section. I have been guilty of placing some in large lists in the open sales threads by mistake and have always been told when they were deleted and never had a problem with it (except I felt stupid not catching them myself). Hope we can get beyond this and back to domains. Ken - Sorry you had such a problem with this very nice domain name. Moderators - Thanks for all the support you put in to this forum for all of us. Wow, such a long and disheartening thread...

I think Adam's aquisition of the forum didnt help the situation here, but I dont think it made it any worse. The other main issue was all the bannings and good members who left to start/join other forums. We need these guys back....

As for Adult, Non Adult, I am 16, and I dont think the name 'HotGirls.tv' is anywhere near offensive....the site it is pointed to is offensive content though, so I am not sure what to do about the name that started this rant-fest.

Now, I have Adriana.biz - a female first name - nothing explicit here. There is no website linked to it other than my contact form. However, it used to be an Escort site. Can I mention that ("former escort site") in a sales thread in the regular forum?

Furthermore: I own BigBalls.biz Is this an adult site? Personally I envision it as a business that sells big balls, eg. basketballs, footballs, soccerballs etc. Not ping pong balls, just Big Balls. Would I be in the clear if my BigBalls.biz got listed in the regular forum, or would I have my own balls busted?

We are all just trying to keep DNF reasonably clean ... There havnt been any bannings for adult in ages that I can think of .. there was one or two when we first implemented the Adult category and asked everyone to move their adult names their..as is done in nearly all major Domain forums . It took about 1 month before everyone really got the message and for most it wasnt a problem at all because most want a orderly clean forum.


I have yet to hear one complaint from any member that they cant find the Adult sales ..ever ..

We have helped clean up the porn issue , the politics (remember those heated threads that made DNF look like crap.. I do I use to love to cause trouble in them !lol )

And there were a ton of scams going on here.. that is still one of our most demanding problems ..always on the look out for people trying to scam DNF members..

We think we have helped make DNF a cleaner and safer place..as much as possible with what we have to work with ..and as Steve mentioned..we dont get paid for this..we do it because we want a place to do business with as little nonsense as business..

In your example .

I wouldnt have a problem with Adriana.biz ...unless you were pointing out that it had adult traffic..Here is my line of thinking .. No need to mention the Adult traffic unless you are targeting an adult buyer..so i thatexample the name would need to be in the Adult.

now thats not to say you couldnt also list it in a regular for sale thread ..as long as you are not posting the adult traffic..

In Other words you simply have the domain Adriana.biz for sale...not a problem IMO

I agree but why not apply the standard to everyone, for example, nothing seems to have been done about this one even though it was a known issue, and the porn site it led to was incredibly bad even locking up my computer and forcing a reboot!

Names that point to any adult site clearly belong in the Adult Forum.
Names that "look" adult will go in the adult forum.
Inevitably, being that this membership is international, there will be some disagreement over specific names but isn't that sort of thing why forums have mods? They are there to make a final call on matters and keep reasonable order on the forum, I wonder why some find it so difficult to accept that someone is going to make a final call!

Is there a problem selling names in the Adult Forum? I really don't get why some seem to think that if a name is moved to Adult that it is somehow banning it from the selling arena, it isn't.

Some people specialize in adult names, others don't want to view them - some use their computers in their office, garden shed (no offence wilco!) and don't care what is on the screen, others use them in the home, or in public and do care what is displayed on the screen - surely there is nothing unreasonable in catering for the needs of everyone, not just those who shout loudest?
