Adam changed the forum for good. There is no question.

People who are used to buracracy that were here during Gregr's ownership should adjust themselves to the progress and not complain about the change.

Things change.

Okay guys, we just had a very good example of unruly behavior, and a moderator's time well wasted. Why am I here babysitting some childish acts? And PLEASE when reporting a post, you don't render a FALSE reason like saying it is "pornographic material" when the truth is clearly not. Thanks.

By the way, I don't think a situation like this deserves any PM or e-mail communication. Original irrelevant posts are copied for future reference for administrators and moderators.

THAT is REALLY good: you just edited out my modding message, making it LOOKS like that I only edited out cappuccino's posts and not yours?

Names that point to any adult site clearly belong in the Adult Forum.
Names that "look" adult will go in the adult forum.
Inevitably, being that this membership is international, there will be some disagreement over specific names but isn't that sort of thing why forums have mods? They are there to make a final call on matters and keep reasonable order on the forum, I wonder why some find it so difficult to accept that someone is going to make a final call!

Is there a problem selling names in the Adult Forum? I really don't get why some seem to think that if a name is moved to Adult that it is somehow banning it from the selling arena, it isn't.

Some people specialize in adult names, others don't want to view them - some use their computers in their office, garden shed (no offence wilco!) and don't care what is on the screen, others use them in the home, or in public and do care what is displayed on the screen - surely there is nothing unreasonable in catering for the needs of everyone, not just those who shout loudest?

I'm not trying to be the one who shouts the loudest. I have been caught up in this domain/adult domain issue more than once.

So if I understand you correctly, if I remove the pointers I can have HotGirls moved back to the sales forum? Why didn't you just tell me that in the first place?

I haven't chimed in yet on this issue as I have been busy, but would like to say the following:

1) Mr. Webname is doing an exceptional job...HOWEVER

2) If a name is to be removed, PLEASE at least send an email to the offending party that you will be moving his/her sales thread, or modifying it. I had posted a name last month in a sales thread: PornIndustry.biz. It never occured to me that this name might offend anyone since there is no site, nor is it "suggestive", such as "F--- XXX.com" or something like that. I was never informed that the name was modified, to say "Porn names not allowed". This was very embarrassing to me personally as I felt it implied I was trying to sell a disgusting "porn name" of which I am DEFINITELY not into. Therefore it would have be nice to get a friendly reminder that even names like "PornIndustry.biz" are a no-no.

That's all....

On the surface your comment seems perfectly reasonable, "a courtesy" has been the comment of some. However, this is not some out of the blue random action, this sticky http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=49011 was posted ages ago concerning adult names and was updated following a similar fuss by the same person over exactly the same issue.
The sticky makes the position clear IMO.
Stickies are provided to set a pattern, mini-rule if you like, for members to adhere to, Mods should not have to PM or email every time a member simply ignores stickies or rules, (except maybe a newbies first error), especially when it is a repeat occasion.

Come 'on MR W. What I am talking about can't be found on some "rules" page. I am talking about treating members who have been here awhile with a little "common courtesy". Trying to point out the fact there is a "sticky" URL at the top of some page explaining the rules definitely is an insult to me and others on this board who have made DNF what it is today because we follow the rules.

Don't get all "I am mod" and all knowing on us Mr W. The only thing that separates you from us is the control panel. Other than that we are all good people (for the most part) who have made DNF a part-time "home". Having said that I would recommend you brush up on your "common courtesies".

thank you.

Courtesy is a two-way road Izopod, however we can re-run this all over again or bring it to a conclusion, (as suggested by Admin), it is therefore being brought to a conclusion - thread closed.
