saw this sale reported today at Afternic

mylawyer.ca $930

interesting it's more of a 'brandable' name...

My my, someone really wanted it. A whole lot of those 'my' .ca's have been dropping lately. Not my type of domain.

I see a lot of my 'this' and my 'that' domains being used for websites and media. I think it's a good alternative for a website name if the natural word is taken, like MyOffice, or MyCar, or MyTickets. It's easy for people to remember and part of our everyday language. My Money, My Vacation, My Kids, My Wife etc. These names probably don't get much type in traffic though.

fresh .ca regs

surreyrealty
burnabyrealty
enfer
(means 'hell' in french)

I did a .ca check recently for cityname + keyword names, keyword being realestate, homes or realty. Most Canadian towns with populations over 20k have 'homes' and 'realestate' taken with city name, sometimes realty is available and seems to be the third choice. I took these because the populations are mid xxx, xxx. Grabbed a few cityname + homes for cities with 20k to 30k population too. I think some could be possible type in candidates, or make good local real estate sites at the least. 'real estate' seems to be preferred over 'homes' as a keyword, but whenever I've searched for homes in towns I personally use cityname + homes.

Surely it's getting traffic - no? I picked up sextorrent some weeks back in the tbr and it gets 130 plus visitors a month so torrent must be two, three times that?

why would 'torrents' get so much traffic?

why would 'torrents' get so much traffic?

I knew the sex torrent one would get traffic (149 visitors last 30) - bit torrent technology for sharing porn seems to be the way these days so it made sense. But torrents in general show slow but consistent growth after their initial burst onto the scene. 'torrents' is a great search keyword and an ovt over 200,000 never hurts.

226368 torrent
66763 bit torrent
52022 torrent spy
38443 torrent search
26365 torrent site
24127 torrent download
20054 porn torrent
12527 movie torrent
11897 bit torrent download
11171 gay torrent
10718 torrent file
8655 torrent u
8404 bit torrent site
7510 music torrent
6922 torrent search engine
6408 xxx torrent
6371 sex torrent
6298 torrent portal
6267 torrent reactor
5939 download free torrent

It nicely covers lots of potential searches. Great domain for a torrent portal/forum imo.

is torrent a file extension, or just a name for this sharing technology?

Hey

A recent hand reg I obtained is twot.ca

Now before you start giggling, here is what an acronym search turned up.

Total waste of time?
The war on terrorism?
Theoligical word book of the old testament??

I then went to the urban dictionary and it had a complete different meaning ;)

Kinda like the top one, could make a great blog?
