They are all for development, I just need someone to add a few extra days to the week so I can develop them. ;)

Side note: Number of .ca's regged is almost at 900,000 everyone!

Long live...... .Ca

And this .ca thread is almost at 50 pages!

Been a while since I've seen a .ca name drop and wondered how could the previous owner let it go! The guy must know absolutely nothing about domain value, or else he passed away

I have seen several in the past and wondered the same... why would anyone....well... good for us though.. so let us not disturb them in their sleep.. lol

I must confess I wonder about the same things at times. I suspect most just get lost in staff or email changes and by the time someone remembers too late.

I also picked up Holo.ca in last weeks drop. I can't make up my mind as to whether it represents a fairly good domain or just so-so.

Any thoughts?

Come on. Surely a dot com GOD can create the dot com WEEK to accomodate that :lol::lol:

reported on dnjournal tonight

HomeBusiness/ca $4,000 Pvt Sale

No offense to the seller but the buyer got an awesome deal. Rmacdon posted this purchase here earlier, now we see the price. Well done, you must beat the bushes to come up with these deals.

to start, there are endless free articles on home business topics you can get from ezinearticles.com and places like that to build a home business directory. for advertising, I'd use a combo of adsense type ads and affiliate programs with good home business products. I'd also promote a network marketing home business opportunity like GDI or SFI on every page and build a downline. if you have lots of time you could build a home business themed site with original content too. either way you should recoup your purchase price quickly.

Oh dear God no! :) Don't put duplicate content articles on a domain like that! Besides getting it buried in the supplemental results it cheapens the domain. That is a saturated niche and the competition on the search engines is tough enough.

There are a ton of home based businesses that have affiliate programs. Pick the top ones across a few topics/niches and have an article or two written for each then include the affiliate links throughout. You can use adsense in conjunction of course for the extra income it provides. This way you get real content that the search engines won't penalize you for(the direct opposite actually), and you can formulate the website exactly how you want.

Even better advice by wb!

BTW - If anyone is parking .ca domains at NameDrive, I'd appreciate any tips on the set up templates. There are a few drop down menu choices, if anyone has any tips about which work best please let me know.

I saw a post here on ringles today and was going to check it out too.

"Ringle" is actually a nice looking word and a good blend between music 'singles' and 'ringtones'. Could have some potential.

The .com's were regged in 2002 and 2003.

I gave them three months with almost half of my portfolio and i was severely disappointed in the results - far too many sub .10 clicks - far too many - especially on medical, finance, credit card, insurance etc. Moved them to Fab and Parked and saw an instant 300%+ increase in revenue.

The only ones that seemed to work for me were domains on music/mp3/bands -their template for that is pretty good.

EDIT - is anyone else using Fabulous? If not you should really check out their new parking system - very slick and the template choices are almost endless in the combos you can create. See toothwhiteners.ca if you want an example.

just as I get a bunch of names over to namedrive, afternic is switching over to active audience, which looks good.

haven't tried Fabulous before.

Will give namedrive and AA a chance, next try will be Fab if I need to.

I sent a local company an email telling them they should snap up their .ca (they own a .com for their brand/company name) before someone else does and profits from their work. That was a month ago, they still have not registered it. The product they make is really starting to take off.

I won't register it as that's not my thing. But I suspect the .ca gets some traffic...

do tell?

I have a similar story with kidsummer/com. The .ca of this domain was available for the longest time, and it had overture with ext. Didn't want to reg it because it was a kid's summer site. Eventually the magazine or whoever controls it did reg the .ca.
