I am in the process of selling my StudentDebts.info (PR4) site and come across this week's dnjournal report sales which Afternic sold StudentDebts.com for $3000. I just search for the name StudentDebts.com and just learned that it is currently owned by BuyDomains.com and is for sale for $4588 now.

Is this good for the domaining business? Is it ethical since Afternic and BuyDomains are partners? I have bought a lot from BuyDomains.com and in my opinion, I think this is very misleading.

Was Afternic the owner when they sold it?

Is Buydomains the owner now, when they list it?

You have to look and see who the owners are. They both broker domains for others; I have many listed at each.

Shame on you for trying to tarnish DNJ's integrity and reliability.

It took me 15 seconds to see that NameMedia has owned the domain for years.
Ownership changed mid-Oct.
The new owners name was public til he transferred it to Moniker.

Last week, the new owner transferred it out of NameMedia's registrar to Moniker (whois privacy).

Ron gives you the tools and information so you can sell your domain at a market price.
But, you are quick to condemn him for being party to a suspicious transaction.

(sorry, my rant for today.)

I think you may have misread his intention as I think he was questioning Afternic/BuyDomains and not DNJ (DNJ just reported the sale).

I came to the thread because of his headline -
"Suspicious Dnjournal Reported Sales" .

DNJ and suspicious sale in the title was wrong to do.
Does he work for the gossip magazines?

How about if I start a thread that says

Larry Wentz stole my domain
Story line
"I sold Larry Wentz DNJ.com for $ 100. He got a steal."

Thats awful..... Now I'm in Google & the archive as a domain thief! I guess I've had worse done to me as I had someone impersonating me in the past making outrageous statements.

I removed the humorous link. I didn't want Google to find it.

I surely don't want a lot of traffic coming to my ppc site and to profit from the nasty comment.

You forgot the Celebrity Domainer section, How the "Domain King" went from auctioning off sponsorships to auctioning off his Mother.

I empathize with Varchar, poor guy probably watches too much Faux news...after a while you think every headline is supposed to be spun.

who was the previous owner?

does anybody know?

BuyDomains was the previous owner for many years.

Are you asking who the present owner is before he took it private?
He took it private. So, there is no reason to make it public.

Everything that is written on DNF is warehoused forever on Google.

This thread was first opened under Afternic, not dnjournal. It was moved by mod/bot.

So, DNForum is also a guilty party in this unjustified attack on DNJournal's integrity?

Maybe, DNF would have changed the thread title if it said
"Suspicous Sales on DNForum"
