I like Southeast Asia in general, and I agree, both S'pore and Malaysia are at the top of my list.

Where in S'pore / Malaysia did you live, Raider? :)

Singapore, Tampines

Safe, Clean and I love the MRT....You can also walk the streets at night and not have to worry about a Pred following you, I also hear they are building a major Casino on Santosa Island, It's a nice little country that's very governed.

I agree. Singapore is a great place - and a global metropolis. I also love the proximity to the sea.

Housing has been getting more expensive though. For the price of a luxury condo in KL or Bangkok, you barely get an HDB flat in S'pore now.

1. Holland
2. Belgium
3. Luxembourg

That's where I'd go if I got kicked out of the U.S.

Australia: too far from the rest of the world. Ozone layer hole expanding rapidly (forget it if you're fair-skinned).

Depends on what part of Australia your referring to. North Queensland perhaps, but the Sydney climate is very comfortable. Melbourne is too cold.

Interesting thread, actually, since me an my wife are seriously considering relocating, even if we're not Americans.. :) But we want a warmer climate, and a bit lower taxes.. (Sweden is cold, and has the highest taxes in the world..) At the same time we want all those other things, good stable internet connection, good health care, and good educational system for the children. So far we haven't found any place that fits all our needs.
Southern Europe is simplest, since it's within the EU, but real estate prices are too high, in my opinion.

..

Britain: Crazy real estate prices, weather is gloomy, rising crime.

...not to mention near inedible Brit food - but the situation is improving thanks to immigration

Immigration is the reason this country is failing, I have went for 11 part time jobs and was told each time I had to be able to speak Polish.

The UK will improve in the next few years, housing prices set to drop next year and the Government now protect £100,000 per person in the banks. Gordon Brown will win the next election so from then he will provide 500,000 jobs for the Brits.

I have a friend who lives in Belgium and he hates it, they have a real hate for the US & UK plus he didnt realise for 6 months that steak and chips was actually horse steak and chips

Keep in mind that Brussels is NATO headquarters so needless to say, great disdain for US and UK.

For the horse steak...well, what can I say. Saw horse heads hanging in the markets in Venice Italy and skinned cat and dog in Korea and China.

No thank you. No Moo Moo Meow Meow for me, please.

Great city, no doubts! But from November until March, it is not uncommon to have 20-30 consecutive days with some amount of rain. Vancouver, BC could be considered the world's capital of rain, despite having some snow during special periods, receiving as much as 40 mm at one time. Almost every day in the winter the Greater Vancouver Area is pummeled by rain. There are some better places with better climate, I believe.

There is rain of course, but also quite a few beautiful sunny days.

Kinda nice to be able to ski, boat, swim, golf or see our beautiful women, which rank among the worlds best.

But if you want to live in paradise, Vancouver Island has it all. Growing fast but still affordable prices. Rated the top Island in North America to visit

Check out this site and go to Vancouver Island. :)

I wonder if all the talk here recently about declining US $ and relocating from US is the tip of the ice berg that things are going to get worse in the US economy?

I'm an American based in Eastern Europe. The weather here sucks, but the warm culture makes up for it. Even with the weakening dollar, the cost of living here still allows you to live like a king, and stockpile money.

Heard that Seraphim, much easier to live with warm people in a cold climate than vise versa :)

Kazakhstan. Very nice! :D

Kazakhstan, greatest country in the world
All other countries are run by little girls
Kazakhstan, number one exporter of potassium
Other countries have inferior potassium

Kazakhstan home of dipshit swimming pool.
Its length 30 meter, width six meter
Filtration system a marvel to behold
It remove 18% of human solid waste

Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan you very nice place.
From Plains of Darashik to Northern fence of Jewtown.
Kazakhstan friend of all except Uzbekistan.
A very nosy people with bone in their brain.

Kazakhstan industry best in world.
We invented toffee and trouser pants.
Kazakhstan’s prostitutes cleanest in the region.
Except of course for too many scars

Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, you very nice place.
From Plains of Darashik to Northern fence of Jewtown.

Come grasp the mighty penis of our leader.
From junction with the testes to tip of its face!
