So they hand out credit cards to 16 year old Canadians, and if not, how does he renew a domain name? How does a 16 year old have the financial infrastructure in place to handle a 5,000 USD transaction, let alone buy the "LLL.com's" he's seeking in his forum signature? Is he using a parents credit card, a stolen credit card, a PayPal account?

It's all bullsh!t. If anyone here believes a word 9MM posts here, then do say hi to Michael for me on your way through Fantasia.

I bought an LLL.com to when I was 17.. so what?

I don't believe that he's innocent - not at all, but I do believe he is 16.. he really acts like a 16yo doesn't he? Would a healthy 'rational' thinking adult get involved in a case like this? not likely - sure it happens, but I think we can believe 9mm on this one.
He's just a kid that made a huge mistake, and he'll have to pay for it.

I dont care what you make, below 18 years old in my books is a high risk trade.
I guess the issue here it about the maturity shown by the member.

Some under 18 year-olds are quite immature, and use a low level of spelling, punctuation and grammar. Hence I'd be wary of dealing with someone like this. Although I'd also be wary of dealing with someone who is 48 and acts in an immature fashion :)

However, on the other hand, there are many teenagers (myself included) who are mature, and who know how to type and spell..

Hence overall I'm saying that looking at age alone is an unfair indicator of a risky trade; looking at the maturity of the member is surely more sensible?

I had saved 9mm's whois information from previous ordeals...

Domain jiih.com:

9mm domains

142 larch street

sudbury, on p3c3c5 CA

Administrative contact:

Technical contact:

Billing contact:

9mm domains

patrick norman
142 larch street
sudbury, on p3c3c5 CA

Note the C instead of the G

That was whois information for the domain name jiih.com

If you do a whois search, you will see that it has changed. May be a different owner now.

According to another forum post mentioned here, this guy just started domaining recently, his parents are poor he claims, so there is no way he used their money, stolen credit cards will not fly either as a hold is placed on large amounts and a trace is super easy on such transactions. He also told me he has no paypal account, no "online banking", BUT, surprise! He was willing to pay me with a WIRE TRANSFER. Now, wire transfer is for big shots like Mr. 9MM . I have this serious feeling that if I accepted that transfer that it was going to come from some foreign place, according to the clues so far, probably Turkey. I am shocked people go to such extents and think they can get away with it.

Yes, think about the broader implications about doing big business over the net with people you don't know. Remember, that all 10K+ transactions in Can/US get reported to the feds. Add to that, the potential to start receiving huge wires from unknown third parties in countries that might be on watch lists, etc....

So in effect that negates his assertion that he received no actual money, just domains for his services.

One query i have is the one thing everyone believes about 9mm is that hes 16

Why?
Everything he has done up til now is lies and scamming so why couldnt he be any age, any sex? he may be 50.
remember 'Tiffanyr' anyone? the other day

btw , took one of those links califbob posted, thanks, got these pics at Flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/98344289@N00/

bear in mind though, a/ they could be took down anytime b/ potentially it may be another Ehsan Mapour, there could be hundreds of people with same name

This is the largest fraud i have ever seen on here, it really needs professional intervention tbh, has anyone contacted the approprate authorities?

You make a valid point Guy. I offered to call him over a week ago and he declined the opportunity (unrelated for the record). Not too many people decline a phone call in this biz, it's possible his voice could have given up his age. At the time he had mentioned his age if im not mistaken.

That's something I wouldn't agree with :)

I'm currently 17. I got into domains when I was 16.

I understand that this particular case reflects teenage domainers badly, however there are quite a few teenage domainers who I know, some of whom have amassed $xx,xxx portfolios.

It's important to realise this :)

I've had plenty of 5 star transactions here with under 18 domainers. Only once was I burned, but easily burned him back and got my money. I've had more trouble with over 18 domainers here (3 occasions) only 1 unresolved.

I find it amazing that in today's day and age, someone would mess with a domainer when they are clearly the best at tracking online activities.

99.9888% of the world is not aware of the domain industry and what we do for a living! Most people I talk to in the entertainment industry, have no clue what a Domainer is!

I'm glad to see that someone has at least reviewed the links I posted (#274) in reference to the Iranian Hacker and his alleged conspirators.

I hope that the FBI and RCMP can will use the information appropriately when it comes time to interview these scumbags about the frauds they perpetrated.

In my opinion, when the authorities review the hundreds of posts in this mega-thread, they are definitely going to want to talk with several forum members to find out what knowledge they have about this six-figure International fraud case. Several of you may find yourself visited by the FBI or RCMP as the investigation progresses. This is just the course the investigation may ultimately take, so don't be alarmed when the G-Men come knocking.

As a former investigator, and current broadcast journalist, this is going to be one mammoth investigation and the fact that it spread across multiple International boundaries and time zones, it may in fact be one of the largest ever conducted in recent memory.

So who is penning the screenplay for this domain saga? I see a "made for TV" movie in the future for this massive who-dunnit.

On a final note, as the community progresses with it's own investigation, feel free to utilize the website www.pipl.com for a comprehensive scouring of the Deep Web. This is the same website I used to locate Ehsan Mahpour's Flikr account that shows a photo of the potential conspirators in this case.
