The sheep are those who pay 5- or 6-figure amounts in the auctions just because a seasoned domainer did spend 200k on a gamble.
The rest are just overoptimistic - no offense JMO.
the sheep are those who spend 1.1 million on .mobi's and announce it here, with a huge grin, of course.
I don't wake up in the morning or go to bed at night reading the holy scripture found on the domain gods blogs.
You can if you want and it appears that many have.
Raider you are taking this sidekick thing too far.
The only domainer blog I read is domainkingofkings.com. Walk softly grasshopper. Notice my DNF$ total.![]()
I have had internet on my phones for many years, it is supposed to make my like easier. either trying to find directions or a restaurant or whatever it may be when I am away from my computer.
I cant tell you how much time I have wasted on a web site not pulling up formatted for mobiles or trying to enlarge text that is too small for me to read while simply trying to find something like a gas station.
So personally, as an end user, if I know a site on a random search for whatever I may happen to be looking for while I am away from my phone ends with .mobi, I know it will be formatted for my phone and I will actually be able to read it without headache.
I understand why the .mobi domain is taking off because as an end user that simple extension could be the difference between frustration and finding the information I need in a format I can read on my phone.
I'm curious Fearless - do you actually have or use the internet on your phone?
bottom line is
That is exactly why I am saying some of the mobi enthusiasts are way overoptimistic.Do I think .mobi will equal .coms one day? maybe, maybe not but it will depend on how the content is developed.
Hey Fearless, as far as you know I only own one. And I only own 5 so take it easy killer, no need to be rude.
This is supposed to be a discussion right?
I have an iphone so I'm an end user too. The difference is I only own one .mobi, iphones.mobi. I know only a handful of people know or care about .mobi by my traffic statistics. No, .mobi hasn't taken off and it never will.
That is exactly why I am saying some of the mobi enthusiasts are way overoptimistic.
.mobi and .com will never be on the same footing. If you believe that I think you lost touch with the market.
While I see mobile Internet growing steadily (again, with or without mobi), I still see desktop surfing going strong, as tiny screens and numeric keyboards just cannot provide an outstanding experience. I get your point about the frustrating mobile Internet experience etc but do not expect wonders.
"If mobile gonna be huge, desktop Internet gonna be even huger".
Mjnels: I want to file a TM on this one
