HI Chris,

I when to dropshark again and re-downloaded it, as it says the latest version is 1.0 build 603.2, but once I downloaded it and unzip and run dropshark it is version 1.0 build 603.1 and I still get the error with it downloading all the 5 days of drops, I sent you an email about this issue and you said you were working on a fix. Any Luck,

Also a list export to a text file feature would be a very handy , as right now there is no way to take any real size of domain lists out of the program,

Well keep up the good work,

Thanks
Tom Dahne

1.0.607.1, tonight's build (or tomorrow morning's, depending on when I fall over) will have export, as well as a number of other changes. See http://www.dropshark.com/WhatsNew.aspx for ongoing commentary on build deltas.

And I'm waiting on a startup debug tool from a friend at Microsoft so I can emulate just about any configuration to see if there's an issue there.

I put in the first analysis module alpha last night... it was slick, to say the least. The next release in July should raise some eyebrows :)

Hi Chris, I wish you well with Dropshark. Of course, user compatability will be a big issue. Sorry to go off-topic a bit as I visited your Blog in your Sig Line hoping to get info on dot-web you were so heavily involved in with IODesign Image Design a few yrs ago but did not find info on .web in your blog. Anything new to report, as I have lots of money invested in .web's and approx' 100 .web names pre-reg'd, which are very dubious value.

Compatability is a big issue, which is why I'm working to ensure that it works on all configurations - a much larger task than one might think!

As for .Web and other new TLDs, as you probably know, I'm involved with the .Mail application in this sponsored-only round. .Web is still "head of the line" so to speak for unsponsored applications still pending. ICANN has been told by DoC that they have until September to have a process in place for those, and the end of this year to implement it.

So like everyone else, I wait - there's nothing to report until ICANN makes its next move. But I remain involved with .Web; there's just nothing to do right now until ICANN does what DoC has told them to do.

In the interim, I continue to assist eNom, work with the .Mail application, and, as you can see, have started the DropShark project. And I'm always looking for new and interesting things to keep me from getting bored :)

"And third, it comes with my brain" Must Save The Brain ---Ren and Stimpy

I am still evaluating it to see if this will benefit me, but it works nice from what I downloaded. :bandit:

Yeah, I keep my brain backed up. I've got it around here, somewhere.

I'll have a new build either tonight, or early next week (depending on testing results). See http://www.dropshark.com/WhatsNew.aspx to see what's being worked on.

nice program!

I bought it and am impressed, though I have had it hang on me when switching between tabs a few times already.

Funny story: I sold a domain last winter for $1500. Using your "demo" data, I saw the equally good (if not a little better) plural of that domain dropped on April 20, and I missed it using my other methods so I snagged it right away. This program will be very profitable!

Are you sure it hung, and didn't just take an abnormally long time to come up with the "selected domains" tab?

That's a known issue that the next build will resolve. :)

Thanks for the kind words! I trust that you'll find the features that I'm adding over the next few months will do you even better!

I guess it depends how you define abnormally long... I gave up after 5 minutes or so

Okay, yes, that's more of a hang :)

The new build that I'm releasing next week will resolve that either way. New UI library and new list code means faster in all respects, and removing the code that was causing problems.

Keyworddomains, what is the failure message? I can't diagnose unless I know what error you're seeing.

The next build should be out within a few days. I had to travel to California for a family emergency last Thursday, and I returned today, so I'm a few days behind, and catching up now.

Hi there.
When I execute the demo program it fails before launching.
I tried it in 2 machines, 1 win xp pro, 1 xp home.

Both 1 GB Ram.
Any hints?

Just to be clear, when you say "fails" do you mean that absolutely nothing happens?

Do you see DropShark.exe in task manager, or does it exit?

I've heard sporadic reports of a failure to start, with the process staying in the task manager, and I'm working to diagnose where and why this happens. It's the only active hanging bug right now.

The next build is going to have startup checkpointing, which I hope will give me a good idea of what's going on. If that doesn't work, I'm going to take the startup code, put it in its own debug build of a standalone application, and make it available to download as a diagnostic to see if I can find the problem.

Once I can find the problem, I can fix it, or, if it's a .NET issue (I'm working out the SOAP subsystem pretty hard), I have friends at Microsoft who are prepared to help out (remember, I was a developer at Microsoft for many years :))

Hi, it says.
'this application failed to initialize properly (some error numbers), click ok to close'.

I really want to buy this program, it sounds great, If I could just open it :)

I also tried it on my laptop a few minutes ago, same problem.
I just bought the laptop last week, so its a new one.

I should have the next build done in a day or two (depending on how quickly I can catch-up from being gone for four days). It should, at a minimum, tell me in what section of code it's having issues.

Just an update - I've finished the new features for the next build, but I'm going to take an extra day to test them, so I suspect I'll release it tomorrow evening.

Code once, test twice :)

PS: someone send me enough F$ so I can upgrade to platinum and post in the deleting domains forum :)
