I reg'd and developed 1800canada and it gets pretty decent search traffic- people looking for 1800 directory numbers. I'm sort of wasting that traffic with just a directory on there but as directories go it gets far more traffic than most of them.

jaydub - are you hoping to cash in on the closeness of Canada and the UK?

I fresh registered another 40 last night. My fav - even if other extensions are not taken - canadiancompany dot ca. One with a couple visitors already - automatictransmission.ca. ET owns the plural.

I looked hard for single word ones - and while there are a lot of them left, most don't suit my fancy, nor do they seem to command any real search value. There are also plenty of plural and past/post tense ones available, but again, I have trouble seeing the value/development future in most of these.

Pickings are getting slimmer by the day. 969,028 - that's the total .ca's regged as of this moment. On December 26 the number was 930,096! One million by end of May for sure!

Slight typo on your site Roy

Doamin Name

A domain name is the product a certified registrar offers to its customers. Also known as registered domain names, a domain name is unique identifier of a particular computer or website. There can only be one of each domain name.

It's not a typo... misspellings can bring traffic! ;)

Good eye though.

Right in one of the headings??

I could see in the script but that obvious makes me question the intelligence of the "web designer". Seriously the average guy wouldn't get "deliberate" or "search engine trick". He would get "stupid".

Here you are trying to give advice and in big letters can't even spell.

Why not something like www.yoursite/doamin.html instead.

And understand I don't really know *&^**&& about SE techniques or web design.

I leave it there for a few weeks, get the page indexed, create a few links with the misspelling in it and presto, it starts appearing on the first page whenever someone misspells it when searching.

On one page bottom feeder pages like that you have to do what you have to do to get enough traffic to make it pay for itself. If it starts getting traffic for something more than the misspelling, then it gets changed.

That's my free alternative traffic-chasing tip for the day.

took

Grande Prairie Homes .ca

on the weekend. growing northern Alberta oil town.

I've looked for all Canadians towns with about 10k plus population, and
city name + real estate and city name + homes are pretty much gone for all of them. A few you can still get city name + realty. I think these types of .ca domains are pretty solid, there will always be a need for them. And it's easy to make a webpage or site about a town and it's real estate.

Just across the way in Saskatchewan they too will be having an oil boom soon. :eek:k:

Well it's less than two weeks old and it's already on the first page on google.ca (without the country search yet) for dot ca domain AND dot ca doamin! :eek:k:

I have a few more .ca domain related domains. I may minisite them all and get the entire first page for a whole bunch of related keywords - I already have two on there! LOL

Vibrateurs(ca) I was thinking of getting it at TBR but didn't want to much for it so I was glad to see no one registered it after TBR. I hope it's not a spelling.

Looks like Oprah did a special on freeganism today, and hits to my site went from '0' to 43 as of mid-today. Most traffic is american so I'm assuming that's the reason. Guess it will be a short term thang.

Good job. Don't forget the 30 day CIRA rule where you can't transfer to a new registrant.
