This is only my 2nd complaint posted on the forum since I started here, but this one bugs me.
On the matter of paying 20 DNF$ to posters on this thread.
To some of us, this stuff is SERIOUS and not just a game.
All the talk in the world about the information being available someplace else etc. is basically cover your ass. We all know it's out there and available, and if you get the name elsewhere you don't owe the 20 DNF$. But for the most part, if the name makes it to this forum and is still not regged, you can bet there's a pretty good chance this is where the new registrant got it. Especially when it's regged within a few minutes of being posted here. Otherwise those in the know would have picked it up on the drop and known about it 2 months in advance. I think we should consider posting the whois on offenders in addition to banning them. I just might start.
Also, I think this owing points stuff is bull. If you don't have the points, haven't earned the points, or haven't traded for the points, you can buy the points on the exchange. Seems the history is that a lot of these people that "owe" points never pay up anyway.
The actual cost on the exchange (DNF$ Index) right now for 100 points is $3 USD for crying out loud, and that would cover you for 5 of these names taken or boost your reg fee by .60 cents each. So this "I'll owe you the points" thing is bull if it's for any length of time over how long it takes to complete a transaction on the exchange. It's just 60 cents each. Sheesh!
The rest of the babble in support of the freeriders is just excuses trying to justify theft.
"Information should be free" they say, until it's time for them to sell. The posters here have likely either paid for subsciptions in cash, or paid by the sweat of their brow, and some think they should get those services from them for free.
