Thanks Roy,

I was thinking the same thing but couldn't find anything.

Could it be simply that backpacks are now more popular than games and ringtones? :)

could be there was some recent promotion regarding backpacks in Canada, there is a kids backpack program. or, a similar .ca site somewhere with 'backpacks' in the name. will be interesting to see if the traffic continues.

maybe Canadians are starting to do more .ca type ins !!

Settled down today to just a few so no big breakthrough yet.

But, I do see a good future with the ca domains, I have a bunch of good generics and they seem to be coming to life.

g2.ca finished at $635 at pool.

I have some .ca's that also see traffic really fly for a few days then drop back to one or two uniques per day. No reason for it as far as i can tell except the odd time one ends up on the first page of the SERPs. Had a parked adult .ca with a nice OVT on the first page of google for almost a month before it dropped onto the second page - it was nice while it lasted!

I've noticed typin for .ca for a very long time. I'm sure many have. Most business here opt for a .ca domain. The cctld is splattered all over media and advertising and has been since I've been picking them up. The best thing I have to say about having a typin .ca is that the traffic is quality traffic, all from north america (canada for the most part) and as far as my parking and publishing feeds go thats choice.

What is the largest .ca sale ever, for one .ca domain?

Was it searching.ca for around 35k? Or was there another?

I'm aware of a 62.5k private sale for one however it was told to me in confidence so I can't out it

No kidding eh! Pre-bidding didn't get out of control for them though.

And to those using a script to run your auctions on namespro/sibername - beat yah today!

Got one outright so far... thought I would get more without auctions being there were lots up this week.

EDIT: I see some of you other gents got some nice domains.

Sibername got me a few, namespro it looks like a couple as well, but it looks like pool did the best again today.

i got 5 with one in post auction.. so possibly 6.

only one was in my top 5 wanted this week.

I dont use pool, id be in the post auctions there if i did.. but i wont buy into paying those prices, and i do my part not to support it. If enough of us supported the other registrars you'd be paying 1/4 the price. The time isnt close yet where you can sell names for profit so buying cheap is still the way to go.

Anyone else get lucky, or did you all use pool and now have to battle each other only to let them park it for a long time and reap all those awesome clicks. At least the bunch i got are already parked.

I got six good deals - all under $40 each. Only one at regfee - thought a couple might drop outright this week but alas no luck there. Got another over $100 but I think its worth it.

Four in pool auctions - somebody has already bid up two of them.

All in all i didn't make out so bad this week. Kevin I saw two you got - both I was chasing. A couple others who regularly post to this thread also got some decent domains.

Good week all-round.

Can I ask everyone here their opinion on hyphenated .ca's when the ovt is 7 figures w/o the ext?

i dont like hyphenated names. it's like haveing a painted plywood sign on your store which happens to be off the beaten path.
