Sibername is now auctioning hydroponics.ca. What's with that? Did someone not pay for their domain they won? ;)

what do people think of L-L.ca and N-N.ca?

I used to hate the dash but these kind of domains in .com seem to be in demand. There are only 100 possible N-N.ca, and 676 L-L.ca (less if you only count desirable letter combinations). Many are taken but still some decent ones available (for now). Search engines seem to ignore the dash, meaning a search for WE will give the same results as a search for W-E.

I just regged in .ca

I can't see there being any type-in traffic so to speak, so the only way imo to measure their use would be to make a website out of them and check the results. That of course overlooks the few natural phrases, words, call letters etc that normally are written in such a fashion. I have never bothered to check for those, but I would assume someone out there has scooped them all up.

I don't see a value for them, just as yet... may be in another 5 years.. may be.When all others have been taken.. but.. I will not bother renewing them till then...

Looks like a very quite day at the TBR today. Did anyone fine any interesting domains than milks.ca?? Even that I find not worth the bid at Sibername. Anyways, I liked swm.ca, but could not get anywhere close to it.

Please excuse this interuption but I figured this was the best place for a .CA political bulletin!

I am trying to work to make CIRA better for all .ca owners by getting on th board of directors! I need your help.

DCG, owner of Dnforum has been working very hard to become a nominee on CIRA's nominee list to hopefully soon become a member of the board of directors.

We are now at the process where we need domainers who are CIRA members to show their support for DCG by filling out a short form that you can find below:

https://elections.cira.ca/2007/support/login/en

If you are a CIRA member and feel you do want to show your support, please do so by following that link.

It would be greatly appreciated as having known successful domainer who has worked very hard on creating a powerful community for many of the domainers in this industry, would be able to extend his knowledge and add a great deal to the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.

This post is not to force you to go ahead and vote. It is simply asking members of this community and your friends to show support for Adam if you feel he would be an asset to the board of directors committee.

The first thing I will fix is the transfer process to simplify it!

Thank you for time!

do you just need to have a .ca domain regged to be a cira member?

many L-L.ca with premium letters already taken, but also many unregged. L-L.com are selling for x,xxx range, and most L-L of other extensions are all taken. I think it makes sense to register some good L-L.ca premiums, like your initials for example. checking to see if any of these recent regs have traffic.

You have to sign up separately for CIRA membership.

I registered FreeDirectory.ca today. Nothing huge but it will be put to use.

took A-N .ca
and two anime .ca keyword domains with high overture searches mid xx,xxx

I'm liking the L-L.ca, nice to be able to get two premium letters in a .ca domain, even with the dash in between. I think they could be used as the initials to make good company websites, for example. LL.ca and NN.ca are all gone, premium LLL.ca are gone, NNN.ca above 100 are gone, I think L-L.ca and N-N.ca are the next progression for short domains. Dashes aren't that uncommon in domains anymore. It may be a while before they pick up, but by then it's too late to get the premiums. It's early days for this.

also built a page for a 'keyword clips.ca' domain in July, was getting under 10 hits/day at the start of the month, now over 50 hits/day. Just added some Video clips from Revver related to the keyword, did up a quick page, and I update the clips manually once in a while. Hopefully traffic keeps going up, not sure where it's all coming from, but it's US, Canadian mostly.

Hope someone here isn't about to pay a minimum of $60 at Pool for xxxs.ca which I let drop unless you have solid plans for it. I made an adult website out of it and made maybe $3 in nine months so I parked it where it made a few pennies.

I'm guessing it's aass.ca?

No it was xxxs.ca just as it appears from the previous week's drop. Maybe they have good plans for it - it may have had some PR and backlinks but nothing worth $60 minimum! It's now being forwarded to a sedo parked page.

Can't yet tell what I got/or didn't get from Sibername/namespro. Had a number of high bids today.

Again this week imho there were bids that made little sense - some on domains I let drop. Very funny when you see bids of $50 on up for domains you couldn't even give away!

animales - nice one for developing!

Got skunked except for shiitake - found a good affiliate for it so it might not be too bad.
