great sale MikeMike,

surprisingly, most of the sales are not generic names.

dkny, yes I know the things is to wait from the right buyer to came from the whois, for example I have good generic names like visitors.com, premiums.com and never get an inquire, actually I had some for visitors but just for cheap price

That were some impressive sales you had. Congrats MikeMike! I have no doubt that you know how to conduct business. Money figures made from sales don't lie :)

dkny, sorry for my poor english, the highest name was cheerleaders.com for $ 56k, then a deal package of 173 names for $ 96k, the $ 500k I refused was for many other names all togheter for example I turned down 10k for shipments.com $ 8k for Indochina.com and so on the total of all those names that I turned down is around $500k.

I hope I explained well, again am sorry for my english.

MikeMike,

You have a good selling record there.

I like the idea of hiding exact domain names by masking part of the name with x's.

I know you did it for legal reasons, but it would serve us well to see other people list their sales - masked - and prices.

For instance, I could note that I sold MyxxxWorld.com for $7500 without giving too much information and other resellers can see that a three word dot-com that started with 'My' and ended with 'World' sold for $7500. That is usable information.

Anyway... Share one piece of knowledge with us. When you receive an unsolicited email from a potential buyer who asks, 'How much for xxxxxxx.com?', How do you respond?

quack :D

MikeMike :

An impressive sales record for you there in the secondary domain market there ! wish u good luck on the future potential sales.

I always wondered, how to read the potential and high profile buyers directly..Why i ask u this is that, i have some very good domains and i feel..those domains very much deserve a very good price ( like any other domain name owner thinks )...i wish you could give us some suggestions here !

thanks

mole : If you should be interested, I would send them to you by mail or Pm to you.

To start with, what is your opinion on the domains in my sig ??
Okay, I feel i have some which are better than those in my sig...with some solid biz potential..and i really mean it ! :)

Don't see any real potential there, virus, sorry. Installbot, for example, is contradictory to a human service.

Such names need a lot of branding, and branding costs money.

heh amazing to think that just about anyone could have done exactly what you did - approached a registrar a year or two back, rented out their connection and earned big money almost risk-free.

I never understood why most registrars and speculators were so slow to get on the expiring domain bandwagon considering the amount of free money available.

Of course, from your profits must be deducted the rental fee, but my guess is you signed a nice little deal when you started out and get it cheaper than 'clubs' like enom.

Like most domain resellers, looks like you have extortion down to a fine art too, $10k for plowandhearth.com, that takes some beating as a price for a generically worthless domain..

domainduck, am sorry I read your post just now, you have a PM.

wohl, I don't understand exactlly what you mean, I can aasume that was not a good thing, anyway if I understood what I think I can say that you are wrong 100% and maybe more, actually you will be surprise reading the things below:

about plowandhearth I was contacted from a guy saying that he wanted to start a small company and wanted to buy the name, he offered $3000 and I said that the offer was low, then he said that he was willing to pay some more but not much, there was few emails going on between us, he keeping says that he wanted to start a small company he had an hotmail account for writing me, then we agree at $ 10k and he sent me a form to sign, on the form I saw (he did a mystake) that he was working at register.com and wanted to buy the name to sell to someone else, well I said him that was not ok he was saying things not true to me, he then find himself discovered and said that if I will give him the name quickly he will give me the possibility to buy names from unpaid department, offcourse he admitted to work at register.com, I said ok and asked him a list of names that I can buy from unpaid dept.. and he said that to show him if I was serious or not I should first transfer the name and then he will send me a big list to buy from unpaid department, I transfered the name for the $ 10k and I asked the list of names, he said he was preparing the list and never went back to me, after few emails he answered that he was on vacation and a soon he will get back at work he will send me the list, off course he never did, I called register.com and after many calls a manager gave my number to a lady there and the lady wrote me an email telling me to call her, I called and she also said she will prepare the list and send to me very shortly after I explained the situation that I sold plowandhearth.com because the guy named Phil promised me to give me the opportunity to buy names from theme, well after that phone call I never heard back from anyone from register.com off course I sent theme many emails and never get an answer. this is the story about that name.

Now going back to you, usually when someone making accusation to other people about facts that he don't know is because he use to do that THINGS, (I hope you understand) :)
