Hey Winny, you doll... wink, wink

MikeMike, Your explaination was clear - quite a story.

About your last comment: "Now going back to you, usually when someone making accusation to other people about facts that he don't know is because he use to do that THINGS, (I hope you understand) :)"

... Old sayings that I know are:

1. a dog smells his own ( poopoo )

2. when you point a finger at someone, there are three pointing back at you.

3. that's all I know...

I have lost all tolerance for people who insult domain name reselling and resellers, because one of us has what they want.

Although there are exceptions to everything, we are not extortionists or leeches or parasites.

We are entrepreneurs, we are investors, we are dreamers and developers.

We move on hunches and we move quickly. We read, we research, and we register.

We are the best in the world at what we do.

We pay taxes on our profits and when the law tells us to obey, we obey.

We have guts.

Beat your drums, domainers!

quack :D

wohl, You don't have a clue, do you?

An economist would probably tell you that a fair price for an item can be determined by putting it up for auction, letting anyone who might be interested know about it (impossible, but you get the idea), and letting market forces do the rest.

Perhaps extortion is too harsh a word - domain sellers may have genuinely convinced themselves (partly because it suits them, but mostly because it has somehow become the accepted view among domain resellers) that fair is the maximum price that anyone would pay for a domain. But it isn't, if a domain is bought by the person to whom it has the most value, they should only have to pay the amount necessary to beat any other potentially interested parties. Here again domain resellers may make a mistake that suits them, by imagining that there are people out there who would pay a large amount for their mediocre domain if only they knew about (there's always a chance, but it's unlikely).

So if someone makes an offer for a domain that is above what I consider reasonable, I will usually accept it. Several times I've been offered a few thousand for a domain and maybe could have gotten more, but the offers were more than fair so I accepted them.

Even if all the people on earth knew of the potential benefit of the plowandhearth.com domain, I doubt it would fetch more than a few hundred dollars in auction, because nobody other than the person who bought it would be very interested.

domainduck, 100% agree with you, so I understood well about that guy :)

Again I'M agree with you actually I can show that in the past I registered say 6/7 names that has a TM on it and I didn't know about it, when the company contacted me I just gave theme the name without asking 1 cents even if on the emails they sent me there was something that let me understand that I can ask for expenses or something like that, actually I registered 2 names that I discovered later that there was TM on it and I contacted the company saying to tell me where to transfer the names .

I'm also curious as Plowandhearth is a HUGE mailorder catalog. In fact I used to type in Plowandhearth.com to try and get to their website to no avail. Now I understand why.
I am surprised that they never contacted you directly and used Register to approach you with an offer.

I must say you have a very impressive track record and obviously positioned yourself well to capitalize on this niche industry.

Kudos!

CXZ. if Mikemikes names are "crap" then "crap" is what I want!
I could sell the "crap" for over $300,000.00 just like MikeMike did.

There are a few good ones in the list.
sesso.net, cheerleaders.com.
There may be reasons why these (others in the list) sold for good prices, but imo most of them don't have a high stable value. They can be worth 10K now, 1H tomorrow.
My names? I have great info/biz, not com. If you don't consider new tld's great I understand.

I'd rather not say the names, after all the only way you can verify what I say is by asking the purchasers and that might annoy them..

Rofl its hilarious reading some of your posts putting other people down for what they do. Everyone does things in their own way and on their own terms. Calling mike an extortion is a bit over the edge in my opinion. The only real domains he sold that is on that list are amarzon alpetite and tropicanahotel that really were names with possible legal issues.

And to be honest those people might have just settled it outside of court for a few different reasons. One he catches on drops and doesnt try to manipulate the traffic which would show bad faith or a trademark infringement. Two someone in the company of tropicana probably f'ed up letting it drop and they decided it was the most cost effective way to get it back.

The other domains on his list were all legitimate sales on legitimately useful names. Im sure negative opinions do not bother him all that much but hey what he does hes good at. He seems to have the resources a lot of people wish they had and I wish him the absolute best of luck. Ive seen one of his past domain lists (it took a week to sort through and categorize) You wouldnt believe how good a lot of them are!

Good like mike.

My personal beter sales were 8 adult related for 20k an online pharmacy .net domain for 7600 i think a 3 letter .org for 4500 and a few others for a couple grand each.
