Guys,
as some of you may be aware my domain is on auction at sedo.
It reached £20k a couple of days ago.
Now their site is showing £15k!
It's lost the last bid!
They keep having glitches but as far i can see it hasn't affected anyone elses bids.
I have of course emailed them, i need this like a hole in the head!
After their disgrace of selling attorney.mobi by accident etcetera, i really am wondering what is going on at sedo????
Help?!!!

Did you take a screenshot of the 20k bid?

A cached google search still shows the £20K. I doubt they would have missed it anyway. Hope you get your loot Pred!

No, of the £15k one though.
I think the whole forum has seen it on £20k though!
Including sedo & i have an email confirming they've seen it.
I expect it's a glitch like the one that lost people bids, revenue etc
Luckily there is enough time on the auction to sort it.
Plus the bidder of £15k was the same as £20k as he was bidding it up to reserve as obviously wants it.
Sedo are p*ssing me off though.
They haven't even commented on the other domain from the other day, that attorney.mobi that they allowed the wrong seller to enter!
Sedo if you read this thread tomorrow, please respond.
Hopefully i wil have spoken to you by then & sorted it.

£20k to £15k sedo seems to be all over the place, even the landers seem to be
on and off every 5 minutes or so.

To me, as a buyer the new system is a pain in the ass. Because if I wanted to bid on a name, only to see it end up in auction I wouldn't bother in the first place.

Yes,
i agree, it has happened a couple of times to me.
However in this case with my domain i am selling, it went straight to auction on sedos advice with a zero start & a reserve.
I think a good way of selling domains sometimes.
However the system & website needs to work!
Sedo have a lot of problems with their site & verification issues at present.

I have to agree with Acro, i will not bid on a domain listed at sedo. I was tempted with one domain offered on a forum, i enquired the owner sent me in the direction of sedo..... hmm additional costs for someone who is tight fisted doesnt go down well.....

Hi olebean,
this domain was entered into the auction process by me BEFORE any bids took place. A good way to sell sometimes.
However sedo glitches are causing much stress. They've robbed me of £5k here!
I will have to ring sedo Germany & give them a rocket up the arse as i'm not waiting for the US arm to wake up.

Good on you fella... Did the bid actually exist or was it withdrawn? Is it sedos fault?

Hi mate,
yeah it's sedo's fault. The bidder of the £20k bid is the bidder of the £15k bid as he bid up to get it to beat the reserve, as hopefully he really wants it.
I mean a few thousand people have seen it at that price including sedo so should be a formality to return it to how it was.
I originally spoke to sedo soon after the bidding started getting underway as i was concerned it was a timewaster. Sedo got back to me & just said well done , all is fine, so they were aware of the stage of bidding.
They shouldn't be having these probs. It's worrying, also most people leave it to the last few mins to bid & sedo's site was crashing all the time last week who were trying to bid on other domains.
Just don't need it at mo.!
cheers, Pred :brick:

To me, it's very serious having agreed on the sale price of a domain, to see that very domain be entered in an auction! It's a very deceptive practice. I will not make another offer to buy on Sedo, period.

They seem to have copied the Afternic system which I like to avoid for the same reason.

Hi Acro,
this is another subject though.:focus: LOL
Can you give me advice or anyone on why websites glitch on say one sale not others?
Also could their system refresh during the night & correct itself? or will i have to speak to sedo anyway?
They also had this problem last week with parking, didn't they?
cheers, Pred

^ Perhaps a sedo bidder has the ability to retract a bid ?

Hmmm. must admit it's possible, but whenever you say bid on a domain you have to tick those boxes & agree it's binding, so i doubt it?
Anythings possible though.
I would imagine you would have to ring sedo to do it. And as we know they don't do weekends!
It's a headache anyway.

Bidding up? Is it possible? Do they allow it?

Hi olebean,
when i got back from walking the dog the other day & saw the bid price on my domain i was like wtf!
i checked the bidding history & was surprised to see one main bidder & two other minor ones.
I contacted sedo, they said it was fine.
I checked others to see. If you click on the domain below mine....else.com & click on the bidding history, it is the same.
I think it is when domains have reserves.
Anyway, this is stressing me, think i'm gonna walk the dog again & give sedo a rocket tomorrow.
cheers, Pred

Maybe save the dog's produce in a bag and mail it to Sedo HQ? :-D
