Some ultra premium names don't make much sense on a mobile phone really. Casino.mobi or Poker.mobi...you have to be really screwed up in the head to gamble on your mobile phone while on your way to the office, riding the subway.

Did anyone notice that the better, more relevant names (Jokes, Horoscopes) went to actual domainers with knowledge of the industry, not speculators with huge pockets?

I heard there are some bidders that lost on the bidding because the 3 time extentions placed by Sedo due to their machines crashing. I have yet to pay for the names until I talk to them and understand the impact they will cause in all of this. For all fairness to them and to all of the .MOBI community, I like to talk to them. I don't see you paying for these names. This might be the perfect opportunity to weasel out of paying. That would be the best outcome for you.

You may be the most charitable person alive but $1M would be much better spent given to charity. That way you'd get a much better return on your money in the way of a tax deduction.

Learn about mind share before you make another foolish mistake like this. .mobis have no traffic. That means you have to buy traffic. Buying traffic for myauntsallysmusic.com would be wiser than spending anything on a .mobi.

Look at the stats for iphones.mobi. 2 uniques a day. It will take 10,000 + years to recover a $1M investment in .mobis. You'll also need to spend some money in search of the fountain of youth.

.mobi is just an extension ... it is not mandated anywhere that it has to be utilized, but it's here and no technology is going to render it useless or redundant - it's just an option! like the other 2XX and some extensions.

The bottom line is large Corps are not going to need to split their content between two separate TLDs. The technology allows them to incorporate all their content at one site which will be dot Com. Dot Mobi is a bust!

Three most view, talked about and enjoyed at the moment are all .mobi, .mobi, .mobi.

You .mobi fanatics keep wanting to compare .mobi to .com. You should should be comparing .mobi to .eu. Both extensions were ruined by domainers. Big difference is the .mobi registry is milking this extension for millions by holding back premium keywords and auctioning them to foolish domainers.

I'm not a mobi fanatic. I just think its a foolish outlook to assume that just because something doesn't have traffic now means it never will. Look at .info for instance. They registry held back names, no one knew about the extention at first and it had no traffic in the beginning either but years later its still producing sales and even some big sites are on the .info extention.
